MayDay 2008 in Minneapolis, the parade to Powderhorn Park

To welcome in spring, and celebrate May Day and Cinco De Mayo, the Heart of the Beast puppet theater works with community organizers to stage a parade and festival on a Sunny May Sunday. This year the weather was absolutely perfect, the turnout to watch the parade was huge, and the Democrats made a major showing as most candidates from within the party had a presence in the parade - prominently including Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak leading an Obama delegation, Representative Keith Ellison, and Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer.

Here are a number of thumbnails from before, during, and after the parade. Each features a link to a larger-image and most have one to a “super size” file, too.
